Welcome to my website.  I and my associates conduct and manage research to improve the use of natural resources in agriculture.

My work draws on more than 35 years experience working in farming, research and policy development in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Germany.  This experience incudes the development of farmer-owned research services at the University of Newcastle on Tyne, research within the German civil service, and senior management experience in the British Civil Service leading agricultural research programmes for the UK government.

There are three main strands to my work:

1. developing research strategies and coordinating research;
2. research into the environmental and resource impacts of agricultural and food systems; and
3. research communication and increasing the wider impact of research

A major proportion of my time is devoted to European agricultural research, especially in the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Union.  This work involves evaluation of past research programmes and the coordination of research projects to maximise impact.

My partners and associates are spread across the European Union.  We publish all our work.
